DNCC Md Atiqul Islam on Sunday saidowners and their security men will face legal action if they make any hindrance to the ongoing ‘combing operation’, conducted by the corporation in its 36 wards to tackle dengue.
“Legal action will be taken against the owners and security persons of any residences or offices, if they interruptthe ongoing combing operation,”he said.He came up with the warning while inaugurating an awareness programme on dengue fever arranged by citizens' platform ‘Sampriti Bangladesh’ in front of the DNCC kitchen market-2in the city’s Gulshan area.
He alleged that the combing operation is facing obstacles as some owners and their security men are not permitting the cleaning workers of the corporation into their houses.
“These obstacles are interrupting and delaying our dengue mosquito fighting operation,” he said.
Earlier, on August 20, The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) launched a ‘combing operation’ to kill the Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, bearers of deadly disease dengue fever.
The DNCC is conducting the drives aiming at destroying the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes and its larvae.
