BNP's MP Rumeen seeks 10-katha plot from government

BNP's reserved seat MP Barrister Rumeen Farhana appealed for a 10-katha plot from government at Purbachal in the capital.

Rumeen, also Assistant International Affairs Secretary of BNP, sent a letter to Public Works and Housing Minister SM Rezaul Karim on August 3 in this regard.

The letter already went viral on the social media platform Facebook.

In the letter, the daughter of late Language Movement hero Oli Ahad, wrote: “I have no land or flat in the capital Dhaka. I have no other business or profession except practicing in Supreme Court as a lawyer. So I need a 10-katha plot at Purbachal Residential Area in Dhaka.

Barrister Rumeen Farhana, BNP's lone MP-elect from a seat reserved for women in parliament, took oath as a lawmaker on June 9.

Earlier, Rumeen submitted her nomination form to the Election Commission on May 20, as her party had chosen her as the lone candidate for election to the reserved seat.

On May 28, the Election Commission declared Rumeen elected from the seat.
