Luxurious Maldives resort is looking for a bookworm to run its beach bookshop

Does your ideal holiday involve sitting on a beautiful beach while reading heaps of books? Then we may have just found your ultimate dream job...

That's because the luxurious Soneva Fushi resort in the Maldives is looking for a bookworm to run their beach's bookshop.

For six months. While also getting to live on the idyllic island.

You'll be running the bookshop, hosting fun experiences for guests from creative writing classes to literary lectures, running the shops' social media account, writing blog posts and just generally living the dream.

The official job title? Barefoot Bookseller.

Aimée Johnson, who was the most recent Barefoot Bookseller at the resort, said of the role: "Being the Barefoot Bookseller was an absolute dream. I got to meet amazing people, work with incredible books and live on a stunning luxury island. Very much the dream job!"

Meanwhile, there's no denying that the Soneva Fushi will make for quite a spectacular base for three months.

The 5-star luxury resort has everything you'd expect from a dreamy Maldives hotspot.

Think fine white sand beaches, crystalline turquoise waters filled with colourful fish you can meet while snorkeling, lush green scenery, seriously swish accommodation and restaurants offering up all the gourmet dining you could want.

The job is in partnership with Ultimate Library, so you'll also get some training before you jet-set off to the breathtaking island and take over the shop the shop in mid-October.

According to the job description, you'll need a passion for books, have excellent written and verbal English skills (you'll be writing the blog), be a team player and be ready to host workships and other guest experiences.
