A man was crushed to death under the wheels of a train at Bangla Bazar area near Bangla Station in Netrokona on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Babul Fakir, 45, hailing from Dholamulgaon village of Purbadhola upazila.

Confirming the news, Nazmul Alam, inspector (investigation) of Netrokona Model Police Station, said that the Dhaka-bound ‘Mahua Commuter train’ from Mohonganj hit Babul at the area around 7:00 pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

His body was later recovered and handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), he said.
