Army soldier killed in Rangamti terror attack

An army soldier was killed in a terror attack at Rajasthali Upazila in Rangamati on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Nasim, 19, a soldier of Bangladesh army.

ISPR Assistant Director Rashedul Alam Khan said terrorists opened fire on a regular patrol team of army at around 10:00am in the area called Poitumukh, 4 km south of Rajasthali Army Camp in Rangamati Region, leaving an army soldier injured.

The injured army officer was immediately shifted to Chittagong Combined Military Hospital by helicopter and died there while under treatment, he added.

At present, patrol operations have been strengthened in the area and security in the area is under the control of the army.
