Two killed in city road crashes

At least two people were killed in separate road accidents in the capital on Monday night.

In Batara area, Sohel, 30, son of Nurul Alam, resident of Natun Bazar of the city, was killed in a road accident.

Shah Alam, sub-inspector (SI) of Paltan Police Station said the incident took place around 1:30am on Tuesday when the motorcycle on which the victims were riding hit a roadside island in the area.

Later, the injured was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where duty doctors declared Sohel dead at 1:00 am.

In Badda, a woman was killed and her husband and child were injured in a road accident in front of Fuji tower at Uttar Badda in the capital on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Rimbi, husband of Kabul, a resident of Batara Natun Bazar in Dhaka.

Shahidul Alam, sub-inspector of Badda Police Station said that police seized the bus.

The bodies were sent to DMCH morgue for autopsies, he said.
