The public and private sectors need to work together against the backdrop of increased global cyber threats, said State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak on Sunday.
He came up with the remark while addressing a seminar jointly organised by Armed Forces Division (AFD) and Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) on ‘Growing Cyber Threats around the World and Preparedness for Bangladesh’ at General Mustafiz Multipurpose Hall of MIST in Mirpur Cantonment in the city.Palak stressed more discussions on cyber security, challenges in government and non-government organisations as well as at personal level, said an ISPR release.
The country will be transformed into a secure digital Bangladesh by 2021 under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said.
Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the AFD Lt Gen Md Mahfuzur Rahman attended the seminar as a special guest.
The seminar was organised aiming to create awareness and enriching knowledge on preparedness for growing cyber threats at personal and organisational levels through the participation and sharing of knowledge among government, military, civil and inter-services organisations and officials.
The seminar was attended by students and faculty members of MIST and different colleges of the capital along with a number of high civil and military officials.
