Anti-rumor rally held at IU

An anti-rumor rally was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Monday with the slogan of “Let’s obey the laws and Creating Life in Humanity’s glory”.

Law Awareness and Values Development, a voluntary organization of the university, brought out the rally led by its chief advisor and Law faculty
dean Prof Dr Reba Mondol.

The rally was brought out from in front of the administrative building of the university around 11:30am and it ended near the Mrittunjoyee Mujib Mural after parading main streets of the campus.

Earlier, a discussion was held in front of the administrative building. IU Vice-Chancellor Prof D Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed the discussion as the chief guest with Pro vice-chancellor Prof Dr M Shahinoor Rahman and Treasurer Prof Dr M Selim Toha present as special guests.

The speakers urged the students to create mass awareness among people highlighting the negative impacts caused by rumors.

Among others, IU syndicate member Prof Dr Mahbubar Rahman, Law Department Prof Dr Shahjahan Mondol, Associate Prof Dr Rehena Parvin, Assistant Prof Armin Khatun, IU BCL president Rabiul Islam Polash, its General Secretary M Rakibul Islam Rakib and students attended the discussion.
