The ACC on Tuesday summoned ten officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ including its sacked managing director and CEO AM Mosaddik Ahmed for interrogation over corruption and irregularities in recruiting cadet pilots.
Confirming it, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) public relation officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharjee said the commission summoned the ten Biman officials by issuing four notices.ACC Assistant Director Saiful Islam, also inquiry officer of the allegation, sent a notice to the ten Biman officials asking them to appear before the commission to face interrogation from July 28 to 30.
ACC sources said the commission asked AM Mosaddique Ahmed to appear at the commission’s Segunbagich headquarters at 10:00am on July 30 for recording his statement over the allegation.
Meanwhile, the anti-graft body summoned Biman’s chief of Training Captain Fazal Mahmud, Chief Financial Officer Vineet Sood, director (Flight operation) Capt. Farhat Hassan Jamil, director (Marketing and Sales) Md Ashraful Alam and director (planning) Air Commodore Md. Mahbub Jahan Khan to appear on July 29 for interrogation.
ACC also summoned Biman director (admin) Partha Kumar Pandit, Director (Engineering and material management) Sazzadur Rahim, director (Customs service) Mominul Islam, and GM (admin) Bushra Islam to appear on July 28 at the ACC headquarters for interrogation.
ACC officials said there is an allegation that the Biman officials appointed cadet pilots through irregularities and abusing their power and thus they amassed illegal wealth.
Earlier, the ACC issued a travel ban on ten Biman officials including sacked Managing director and CEO AM Mosaddique Ahmed.
