Dhaka, Monday, July 22, 2019: The leading commercial bank of Bangladesh, BRAC Bank Limited, and Green Delta Insurance Company (GDCL) have jointly organized an awareness programme for the farm owners on livestock insurance.Around 110 livestock business owners and SME entrepreneurs joined the programme in Jashore on July 2, 2019.
The financial and insurance experts elaborated on easy loan application and insurance claim process and explained on livestock insurance facility which will help them to tackle the risk of livestock loss causing from accidental death, diseases, partial disability or even death during calving.
BRAC Bank is the first bank in the country to launch livestock insurance coverage for SME segment in partnership with Green Delta Insurance Company.
Apart from this awareness programme, BRAC Bank and GDICL also arranged a training programme for Small Business Relation Officers so that they can motivate livestock business owners to avail the livestock insurance while taking SME loan from BRAC Bank.
Philip Biswas, Executive Director, Rural Reconstruction Foundation (RRF); Mahbubur Rahman, Senior Vice President, Green Delta Insurance Company; Nazrul Islam, Head of Small Business, West; SM Saiful Islam, Head of Agricultural Finance and MFI Finance, BRAC Bank, were present at the event.
The programme was arranged in partnership with MFI customer RRF. The initiative is supported by BFP-B (Business Finance for the Poor in Bangladesh) Challenge Fund, a project of DFID, and managed by NATHAN Associates, London.
