Sedition pleas against Priya Saha rejected

Two sedition pleas filed against Priya Saha, one of the organizing secretaries of Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad, have been rejected.

Two seperate courts of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrates Abu Sufiyan Md Noman and Md Ziaur Rahman rejected the pleas on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier, Advocate Md Ibrahim Khalil, executive committee member of Dhaka Bar Association filed a complainant suit with Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufiyan Md Noman, while Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman, Supreme Court lawyer and International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) prosecutor, filed another sedition case against Priya Saha with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ziaur on Sunday morning.

Priya, one of the organising secretaries of Bangladesh Hindu-Bouddha-Christian Oikya Parishad, told the US president that 37 million Hindu, Buddhist and Christian people have disappeared from Bangladesh.

The statement was captured on a video and went viral on social media platforms.
