Dhaka-Sylhet rail service resumes after derailment in Moulvibazar

The rail communication on the Dhaka-Sylhet route was suspended temporarily as a wagon of Kalni Express derailed at Kulaura Railway Station in Moulvibazar on Saturday morning.  

Confirming the incident, Kulaura Railway Police Station Officer-in-charge Abdul Malek said, the derailment took place around 10:30am this morning.

He said, “The accident took place as soon as the Kalni Express reached the outer station. Later, a relief train reached the spot immediately and took away the derailed wagon.”

He also informed that the rail communications on the Dhaka-Sylhet route remained suspended for one hour due to the derailment. Now the rail communication of Sylhet with Dhaka has restarted again.
