ACC unearths grafts, irregularities in WASA’s 11 sectors

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has unearthed grafts and irregularities in 11 sectors of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA).

The anti-graft body has submitted 12 recommendations to the local government minister in this regard.

ACC commissioner Mozammel Haque Khan submitted its report to Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Minister Md Tajul Islam at the secretariat in the capital on Thursday.

Mozammel Haque Khan said without completing the project work within the stipulated time, deadline and project expenditure were increased to implement the project showing a number of  excuses.

In this case, the project director, management authority of WASA, engineer concerned with implementation of the project are allegedly involved with the corruption.

The ACC commissioner further said, “The water supplied by WASA is not yet drinkable. We got 11 corruption of WASA. We have prepared12 recommendations in this connection”.
