IUBAT organises certificate awarding ceremony on book reading competition

International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) organised the “Certificate Awarding Ceremony for fall 2018 and spring-2019 on British Council Book Reading Competition” on Tuesday on IUBAT Conference Hall, in collaboration with the British Council, Dhaka.

The program, held at 11:00 am at IUBAT conference hall, was presided over by Prof Dr Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT.

In his speech, Prof Dr Abdur Rab underscored the need for learning English for the students of IUBAT.

He highlighted, “Our students should read numerous books”. He also sought other facilities those British Council can provide.

At the outset of the event, Dr Momtazur Rahman, Prof and Coordinator, Dept of Languages, IUBAT, delivered his welcome speech.

He stressed the need for reading as part of English skills.

Prof Dr Hamida Akhtar Begum urged the students of the university to continue reading habit and highlighted students’ needs for reading various books to flourish English skills.

Chief Guest Ms Kirsty Crawford, Program Director, Libraries Unlimited, British Council, was present at the ceremony and outlined numerous suggestions of reading and urged the students to adhere to reading practice.

Mubtasim Islam Nirjon, the student of IUBAT and the recipient of a Laptop, shared a great feeling regarding the book reading competition.

Dean, professors, controller of examinations, directors, chairs, coordinators, heads, and staffs of the different departments were present at this auspicious ceremony. Finally, the program ended with a photo session.
