Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayor Atiqul Islam on Tuesday said that no discipline exists in public transports of Dhaka. Everyone makes money according to their will, he added.
He came up with the statements while addressing a concluding episode of a workshop on International View Exchange with a view to establish disciplined public transport service at a city hotel on Tuesday.Mayor Atiqul said, "The added length of the roads in Dhaka is about 20 thousands kilometer. We slapped ban on rickshaw only just 10 kilometers of the roads. We have a plan to free Dhaka roads from rickshaw within two years."
Commenting on the ongoing movement of owners and drivers he said, “We will sit with them at 12:00 pm at city Bhaban in the capital. We want to speak with them; we want to listen the problems of them. We would like to convince them to give in to the decision considering greater interests of the city dwellers.
