Buriganga to be turned into an aesthetic spot like Hatirjheel: Minister

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said Buriganga will be turned into an aesthetic public space like Hatirjheel in Dhaka.

“Buriganga will be an amusement spot soon. Starting circular waterway around Dhaka, it would be ensured transportation of passengers and goods with ease,” said Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.

The home minister made the remark at an event at Kamrangirchar in the capital on Saturday.

Mentioning that all the rivers, including the Buriganga of the country, will be freed from grabbing, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed us to turn the Buriganga into its old form. We are working accordingly.”

“Work is going on to free the rivers of the country. Those who attempt to grab rivers will be brought to book,” Kamal said.
