The second round of International Leadership program on Education-2019 was held on Monday in two separate venues of the capital.
Global Educators Initiative for Sustainable Transformation (GEIST) Innovation and Leadership Center [GILC] organised the event.The program will focus on promoting leadership and enhancing English language skills among the students.
Ambassador of Vietnam, Tran Van Khoa attended the event as chief guest while Vice Chancellor of United International University Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman, was present as special guest with GEIST International Foundation president Bilpob Kumar Deb in the chair.
Around 150 students, including 70 cadets from different institutions and cadet colleges across the country attended a day-long intensive workshop, meet, debate and language fluency tests at American Center and United International University in the capital.
Participants had to undergo a test on education, panel discussion and presentation based on English and global aspects.
International Leadership Program on Education is International Olympiad on English Language and Leadership. Eight students will be selected to represent Bangladesh in the Leadership Program on Education -2019 scheduled to be held on August 8-9 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The participants will also have the opportunity to join an International Conference on STEAM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) Education in Vietnam.
Earlier, thousands of students took part in the preliminary round in eight divisions of the country in different phases. Of the learners, selected students joined the second round in the capital.Ambassador of Vietnam, the chief guest of the event said youth engagement is very important for any development. Globalisation, Leadership and networking are the major skills of the present world.
“It’s a great initiative and exchange program between the teachers and students of the two countries. It will enrich the teaching learning and ensure the quality and sustainable education and brotherhood of both the countries.”
