A remembrance programme titled ‘Smriti Swatta Bhobisshot’ began at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy on Monday evening.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in association with Cultural Affairs Ministry has been organising the programme to pay tribute to the 45 prominent poets, litterateurs and artistes of the country.The inauguration ceremony of the programme was held at the National Music and Dance centre of BSA at 06:00pm on Monday. State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid graced the occasion as chief guest.
Presided over by BSA DG Liaquat Ali Lucky, Tagore enthusiast and educationist Dr. A.B.M Nurul Anwar, Bangladesh Theatre Archive President Abdus Selim, Dhaka University Fine Arts Department Professor Artist Jamal Ahmed, singer Kiron Chondro Ray, Photographers Pavel Rahman and Munira Morshed Munni and Dancher Mahfuzur Rahman spoke on the occasion.
BSA Secretary Badrul Alam Bhuiyan delivered the welcome speech.
The opening day event featured a discussion on the celebrated music maestro of the subcontinent Sachin Dev Burman, video presentation, dance and musical soiree.
The programme will continue till July 2 at National Music and Dance auditorium of BSA.
