ACC seeks to bar DIG Mizan from leaving country

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday sent a letter to the Department of Immigration so that suspended deputy inspector general of police (DIG) Mizanur Rahman Mizan cannot leave the country.

Earlier in the day, the ACC filed a case against DIG Mizanur Rahman and his three other relatives including his wife Sohelia Anar Ratna allegedly for gathering wealth beyond known source of income.

The ACC authorities also asked DIG Mizan to appear at its headquarters for quizzing on July 1 allegedly for paying TK 40 lakh in bribe to its suspended director Khandaker Enamul Bachhir.
