If Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had not undergone the cataract surgery a few days ago, she would have joined farmers in harvesting their paddy from fields.
“I would surely join with farmers in theirs field to harvest paddy during Boro season, if I didn’t undergo the eye surgery,” Sheikh Hasina said on Sunday. She expressed her unfulfilled willingness, while addressing a certificate handing over ceremony among the participants of the 110th, 111th and 112th Law and Administration Courses at the Bangladesh Civil Service Administration Academy in the city’s Shahbag area.
“All jobs are equal in my eyes. Why do those, who produce crops, seem low to me?,” She said.
Sheikh Hasina also urged the participants of the ceremony to consider all occupations equal while working in the public administration.
On May 4, Sheikh Hasina underwent a cataract surgery at the Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.
