Two killed in separate Ctg incidents

CHATTOGRAM: Two persons were killed and another was injured in separate incidents in the port city on Friday. 

The deceased were identified as Ranajit Das, 35, son of Jogen Das of Kishoreganj district and Faruk Ahmed, 60, while the injured was Shyamol Das, 25.  

Sources said an unidentified speedy vehicle ran over Faruk while he was crossing the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Bhatiari area under Sitakunda upazila in the early morning.

The accident left him injured critically.

He was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where on-duty physicians declared him dead, said Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukder of the hospital police outpost.

On the other hand, Ranajit and Shyamol sustained injuries while came into contact with live electric wire at an under-construction building in Bainnaparra under Pahartali police station in the morning. 

They were rushed to the CMCH where doctors declared Ranajit dead, Alauddin said adding that Shyamol was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
