Child Parliament session held

National Children Task Force (NCTF) has hosted its special session of Child Parliament focusing on sustainable development goal.

Planning Minister MA Mannan was the chief guest at the session while Child Parliament Speaker Mariam Akhtar presided over the session at Brac Inn in the capital on Wednesday, said a news release.

Addressing the meeting, Minister Mannan called upon the youths to adopt soft skills to face the challenges of transformation of technology globally.

Minister Mannan also emphasised on importance of development of children for achieving sustainable development goal while addressing the policy dialogue.

Development Agencies – Plan International and Save the Children – jointly organised the meeting in association with Bangladesh Shishu Academy.

Some 32 youth representatives from 16 socially excluded groups attended the special session on sustainable development goals.

Mannan said the government has emphaised on development of children living in remote areas across the country in seventh five-year planning for inclusive development.

Among others, Plan International Country Director Orla Murphy, Deputy Country Director Laura Criado, Save the Children Programme Development Director Reefat Bin Sattar, Deputy Director Ashiq Iqbal were present on the occasion.
