Former state minister for home ministry Sohel Taj on Wednesday said that they got phone calls from his abducted nephew Syed Iftekhar Alam Sourav’s mobile phone last night.
Coming on Facebook live, Sohel Taj revealed this on Wednesday noon adding that no one from opposite side talked to them.The former state minister informed that someone phoned using Sourav’s cell phone to his parents at 2:20am on Monday night (early Wednesday).
Sohel Taj said, last night, around 2:30am, his maternal cousin and her husband told him over phone that they got 2 to 3 calls through WhatsApp from their son Sourav’s mobile phone. But it was uncertain who made those calls as no sound was heard. They also called on his mobile back several times but no one received the calls. They also sent text message to him but they did not get any response yet.
Sohel Taj also said that they informed the matter to Counter Terrorism DC, DC North and OC Panchlish police station. They are trying hard to track the location of the phone.
'We are waiting with confidence in them. The authorities will tell us quickly. You will pray for us. But we will not stop. We are also trying. Such events are not desired. If such incidents do not happen anymore, we need to pay attention to it. In Bangladesh, we all want to live peacefully in peace. That was the goal of our Liberation War. For this, thousands of freedom fighters gave life. I hope, we will get such a Bangladesh in future," said Sohel Taj.
Syed Iftekhar Alam Sourav, maternal nephew of Sohel Taj, went Chattogram to submit curriculum vitae (CV) for a job on June 9 and has been missing since then.Sourav’s family has been claiming that he was abducted in a planned manner in the name of luring of job.
