Police collected information from buildings owners and tenants of different areas in the capital on Tuesday on the fourth day of Citizen Information Collection Week.
50 police stations in 302 beats are collecting the information from door to door to ensure entry of all the updated information in the Citizen Information Management System (CIMS).Besides, Courtyard Meetings (Uthan Baithak) are being organised to create awareness amongst the local residents about whether various types of criminals and militants are hiring a house using fake names and addresses.
On June 15, Dhaka Metropolitan Police started collecting citizen information again as part of its preventive measures to avert threats of militant attacks.
As part of the programme, Bhatara Police Station in the capital organised a rally at the local Madani Avenue from the police station premises.
Senior officials of the police, local public representatives and people of all walks of life joined the rally.
Separate rallies were also arranged at Shahbagh, Banani, Paltan, Demra, Sabujbagh, Dakshinkhan, Badda, Khilgaon, Tejgaon industrial area and Rupnagar thana.
The Citizen Information Collection Week will continue till June 21. During the programme, every citizen is requested to submit their information to the respective police stations.
