TSI put on remand

CHATTOGRAM: A court here on Monday sanctioned a two-day remand for arrested Town Sub Inspector (TSI) Siddiqur Rahman in the case filed in connection with recovery of 10,000 pieces of Yaba pills from him.

The court of Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Mehnaz Rahman passed the order after Investigation Officer (IO) of the case produced the accused before it with a plea for five-day remand, said Assistant Commissioner (AC-Prosecution) Kazi Shahabuddin Ahmed of CMP.  

The court granted the remand after a hearing in this connection, he said.

Mentionable, members of Counter Terrorism Unit of the CMP and Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) jointly conducted a drive in the city’s CGS Colony on Friday and arrested TSI Siddiqur Rahman with the Yaba pills and cash amount of Tk 80,000.
