Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Mortaza said that they haven’t decided yet about Mushfiqur Rahim’s participation when Bangladesh will take on West Indies at Taunton in a must-win game today.

“Firstly, I think we haven’t decided yet about Mushfiq’s participation in the game against West Indies. But Mushfiqur Rahim is totally fine, I think. He had X-ray and MRI scans. He didn’t have any issues at all at the moment. I’m not sure the final call will come from him in the future. But I think he looks fine,” Mashrafe said.

Bangladesh survived a massive scare after an X-ray report revealed that Mushfiqur Rahim had no fracture on his forearm.

Mushfiqur, considered as the most dependable batsman of the country, got hit on his right forearm during a batting practice session while facing a bouncer from pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman.

He left the ground immediately after being hit and iced the injured spot in the dressing room.

The injury seemed not to be serious but still he was taken into hospital for an X-ray as a precautionary measure. As the X-ray revealed nothing serious, he can take part in Bangladesh’s crucial match against West Indies on Monday at Taunton.

Mushfiqur’s service is imperative for Bangladesh, considering that he is only batsman other than Shakib Al Hasan who has been consistent in this World Cup.
