Indian High Commission in Dhaka organised a cycle procession on Dhaka University campus on Saturday marking the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Indian High Commissioner Riva Ganguly Das and Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University Professor Md Akhtaruzzaman were present at the event.The government of India is celebrating Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary around the globe in the befitting manner.
Cycling is part of the celebration programmes. Members of Dhaka University Cycling Club took part in the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Riva Ganguly Das said, “We are living at a time when the messages and ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi are more relevant than the period of time when he lived. Even now, his life and messages motivate millions throughout the world.”
The High Commissioner urged all youngsters gathered there to spread the messages of Mahatma Gandhi.
