11-year-old boy eats five meals a day to save father's life

An 11-year-old boy from China is eating five meals a day to put on weight to save his father's life who was diagnosed with leukaemia seven years ago.

For a long-term option, doctors advised bone marrow transplant and Lu Zikuan who was only match in the family. But, little Zikuan weighed only 30kg and was told he needed to weigh at least 45kg before he can become a donor, reported Sky News.

Preparing for the transplant, Zikuan started eating five meals a day to reach the minimum weight requirement to undergo surgery, although the ideal weight is 50kg.

Zikhuan's father, Lu Yanheng, was being treated with medication until his health deteriorated last August and he needed a blood transfusion.
