RAJSHAHI: Indonesian Ambassador to Bangladesh Rina P. Soemarno has said her country is interested to extend cooperation towards development of agriculture processing, education and tourism sectors in Rajshahi, reports BSS.
She also said her support will remain in terms of developing sister city between Rajshahi and any of major cities in her country in near future for enhancing cooperation between Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC).The Indonesian Ambassador accompanied by Mayor of RCC AHM Khairuzzaman Liton made this observation while meeting the press at Nagar Bhaban Hall Room here on Thursday. RCC authority hosted the event marking her visit to Rajshahi city and its outskirts.
Ambassador Rina P. Soemarno says her country believes in furthermore relation development between Bangladesh through enhancing the bilateral cooperation.
“Bilateral trade between Bangladesh and Indonesia has gradually been rising as the trade between the two countries grew to a greater extent”, she said adding that her country has been working intensively towards development of Bangladesh’s railway sector.
The envoy also said there are many other scopes of working here as the area is enriched with archaeological and potential resources.
In order to explore opportunities for business and investment cooperation, the Indonesian Ambassador also held a meeting with the city mayor at his city bhaban office to discuss the potential for cooperation in the economic and socio-cultural fields.
Seeking Indonesia’s support for the Rajshahi’s potential sectors like agriculture processing, education and tourism Mayor Liton said that the Indonesian investors could explore the tourism potentials in the city.RCC Ward Councillors, officials and others concerned were present at meet the press.
Earlier, the Indonesian Ambassador visited Rajshahi University, Varndra Research Museum, Puthiya Rajbari and a number of mango orchards besides holding a meeting with leaders of Rajshahi Chamber of Commerce and Industries here.
