People's expectations will not be fulfilled: Khasru

The proposed budget for the fiscal year 2019-20 will not fulfill the people’s expectations said BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury.

The BNP leader came up with this comment on Thursday evening in an immediate reaction soon after Finance Minister placed the proposed budget of FY2019-20 before the Jatiya Sangsad this afternoon.

Mentioning that Bangladesh government is the only unelected government in South Asia, Amir Khasru claimed that the government has no moral right to prepare national budget as they were not elected by people’s vote—and they are not even accountable to the countrymen.

He also alleged that the government placed a debt-dependent budget as they destroyed country’s macroeconomics. Allocations have been proposed three times more which will be realised by cutting public pockets by the means of VAT, Tax.
