On the 29th day of the Ramadan, the National Moon-Sighting Committee announced that the first moon of the Arabic Shawwal month of 1440 Hizri was not sighted and the Eid-ul-Fitr would be celebrated on Thursday (June 6).
Later, the committee came up with another declaration around 11:00pm on the same day that the first moon of the Shawwal month was sighted and Eid-ul-Fitr would be observed across the country on Wednesday (June 5).
People already took their Taraweeh prayer before the second announcement was made by the committee and it created mass criticism among the countrymen.
