At least seven people are being affected by dengue fever in Dhaka Metropolitan city every day.
Dr Ayesha Akhter, assistant director of the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of Directorate General of Health, disclosed the information to a journalist of an online news portal on Monday.She said, “We have been confirmed that some 55 people were infected by dengue fever in the capital from June 1 to 8. Among them, 23 affected persons were admitted to different hospitals in the city.”
Ayesha Akhter also informed that more than 300 people were admitted to hospitals being infected by dengue fever in last five months (From January 1 to June 8).
“Among them 2 died of dengue fever. Till now, 279 returned home after receiving treatment at different hospitals,” she added.
She also said that 9 people were affected by dengue fever in last 24 hours (June 8) in the capital.
