Three youths killed in Ctg bike crash

CHATTOGRAM: Three youths met tragic end in a road accident at Mirsarai upazila in the district on Saturday night.

The deceased were identified as Md Rakib Hossain, 18, son of Md Abdul Mannan of village Takiaparra, Tarek Hossain, 22, son of Shafiul Alam of village Purbo Khaiyachhara of the same Mirsarai upazila, and Mahfuzur Rahman Rifat, 28, son of Mahbub Alam of village Andarmanik under Chhagalnaiya upazila in Feni district.

Sub Inspector (SI) Nurul Alam of concerned Mirsarai police station said the accident took place around 9:00pm when the motorbike carrying the youths went beneath a standing truck after losing control in Fenafuni Bridge area on Dhaka-Chattogram highway under the upazila.

The accident left Rakib and Rifat killed on the spot and Tarek injured critically, Nurul said.

Injured Tarek was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where on-duty physicians declared him dead, said Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Alauddin Talukder of the hospital police outpost. 

Meanwhile, Two people were killed and 10 others were injured in a head on collision between a bus and microbus at Dulafir Majar in Sadar upazila on Saturday.

Among the two deceased one was identified as driver Md Yakub, 27, son of Yusuf of Kalatoli Adarsha Uttar village in the upazila.
