Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said the Eid journey to the homebound people will be an easier and comfortable compared to anytime in the past.
The Awami League general secretary expressed the hope while talking to reporters after a review meeting on BRTC Eid special service held at its headquarters at Motijheel in the capital on Sunday.“We have opened the 2nd Meghna and 2nd Gumti bridges on Dhaka-Chattogram highway for traffic before Eid. So, we are expecting that the homebound people will be able to reach Chattogram within four hours from Dhaka,” Quader said.
Quader said some 1,049 buses of BRTC will be engaged for the transportation of inter-district passengers during the Eid. In the meantime, 153 new buses have been added with old ones.
