Barrister Rumeen Farhana, BNP candidate for reserved women seat, on Monday submitted her nomination paper to the Election Commission (EC).
She submitted the papers to Abul Kashem, returning office in EC for reserved women seats, around 1:10pm today.BNP assistant international affairs secretary Rumen was nominated by her party as BNP candidate for reserved women seat in the 11th parliament.
Shayrul Kabir, an officer of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's media wing, was present during the nomination submission.
In the last Jatiya Sangsad polls, held on December 30, the Awami League (AL)-led Grand Alliance secured 288 seats — the AL 257 alone, the Jatiya Party 22 and others 9. Meanwhile, the BNP-led Jatiya Oikya Front got only eight seats.
According to the 11th parliamentary polls’ results, only one seat is reserved for BNP.
BNP nominee Barrister Rumeen Farhana is international affairs assistant secretary of the party.
