The government has formed two probe bodies to investigate the ‘abnormal’ high price paid for household articles to furnish apartments in multi-storey buildings under the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant (RNPP) Project in Pabna.

Two probe bodies were formed headed by an additional secretary and an additional chief engineer of Housing and Public Works ministry separately, according to media report.

The information is learnt from a press release undersigned by Public Relations Officer of the ministry on Sunday afternoon.

The public works department purchased the household articles, including electric stove, electric kettle, room cleaners, televisions, refrigerators, pillows and washing machines, for furnishing 966 apartments constructed mainly for the Russian engineers and officials of the RNPP.
