The Bangladesh Railway will sell around 72,000 advance tickets for the passengers each day between May 22 and May 26 from capital’s Kamalapur, Airport, Banani and Tejgaon railway stations and Phulbaria and Chittagong railway stations.
One person will be allowed to purchase maximum four tickets at a time. The travellers will have to show their national identity (NID) cards while buying tickets.On May 22, advance tickets would be sold for train journeys on May 31 while on May 23 for June 1, on May 24 for June 2, on May 25 for June 3 and on May 26 for June 4.
The sale of return tickets will begin on May 29. On May 29, advance return tickets would be sold for June 7, on May 30 for June 8, on May 31 for June 9, on June 1 for June 10 and on June 2 for June 11.
Md Mia Jahan, additional director general of Bangladesh (operation) revealed this information at a press conference on Wednesday.
Railways minister Nurul Islam Sujan (MP) and senior officials of the railway were present at the press conference.
