Pratul Mukhopadhyay hospitalised

Noted Indian lyricist, composer and singer Pratul Mukhopadhyay was hospitalised after he suffered a heart attack on May 2.

At present he is being treated at Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial Hospital (PG Hospital) of Kolkata, West Bengal as directed by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.

According to PG Hospital authorities, Pratul’s health condition is now in a stable condition, but he is not yet out of danger.

The 77-years old singer has been suffering from old age complications for long.

Earlier, he was admitted to a private hospital in Salt Lake of Kolkata following a heart attack at his resident on May 2, his wife Sarbani Mukhopadhyay said to Indian newspaper.

She said, “Pratul’s health condition is now better.”

Pratul Mukhopadhyay is simultaneously famous in both Bangladesh and West Bengal. He is mostly popular for his renowned song ‘Ami Banglay Gaan Gai, Ami Banglar Gaan Gai’ (I sing of Bangla, I sing in Bangla).
