BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday said their party’s previous decision not to join parliament was wrong.

“Our acting chairman has taken right decision to join the parliament. Previously we told that we would not go to parliament. But presently the decision about joining the parliament is right,” he said.

The BNP leader told this at a commemoration meeting arranged by ‘Shammilito Chhatra Forum’ at the national Press Club in the capital.

“We should keep it in mind that nothing can be achieved by raising cheap slogans. Our acting chairman has taken the right decision as we’ve to fight both in and outside the parliament,” he said.

The leader further said they must carry on their fight on all the fronts to realise their demands. He warned that if the BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s health condition deteriorates, the government has to shoulder the responsibility.

Mirza Fakhrul claimed that their party is fully united and there is no conflict inside the party.

He suggested BNP leaders not to talk about party’s problems in any public meeting.

“I urge you all to talk about party problems in party forums only.”
