Students of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) blocked Nilkhet intersection of the capital city on Tuesday for nearly four hours to press their five-point demand.
The demonstration caused a huge traffic snarl-up and immense suffering to commuters.
The demands of students include publishing results of all departments of a session together within 90 days of examinations and establishment of a separate building to run the seven colleges.
They will also stage a sit-in today beginning at 11:00 am at the same place, they said at a press conference at 2:00 pm.
They warned that they would not budge an inch on the issue until their demands are met
At the conference, Abu Baker, a student of Dhaka College, said, “We will continue our protest until our five-point demand is met.”
Witnesses said several hundred students started the protest at around 11:00 am.
Earlier, students formed a human chain on the Dhaka College premises at 10:00 am.
