Cops asked to keep vigil after Sri Lanka attacks

Field Commanders of Police (Officers like SP/DC) were asked to keep vigil on the pretext of multiple blasts in Sri Lanka that killed at least 189 on Easter Sunday.

Confirming the matter, sources at Police Headquarters said the commanders across the country including Dhaka were directed to maintain highest level of vigilance.

The development came to fend off any unwanted incidents in celebrating Shab-e-Barat and Easter Sunday in the backdrop of recent series of blasts in Sri Lanka.

On Sunday morning, the near-simultaneous blasts killed at least 189 people and injured hundreds more. It is the biggest violence Sri Lanka has seen since its civil war ended a decade ago.
