'Drug peddler' killed in Cox's Bazar 'gunfight'

A suspected drug peddler was killed in a “gunfight” between two groups of drug dealers at Kanjorpara area of Howaikkog union of Teknaf in Cox's Bazar on Saturday morning.  

The diseased was identified as Shahab Uddin, son of Abdur Rahman of Howaikkog union.

Police recovered two light guns (LG), 7 rounds of bullets and 4000 yaba tablets from the crime scene.

Teknaf Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (Operation) Rakibul Islam Khan said, “A gunfight between two groups of drug dealers broke out at Kanjorpara hilly area early in the morning.”

Being informed, police rushed to the spot and the miscreants flee away immediately.

Police found a bullet-hit body of Shahab Uddin in the spot and sent him to Teknaf Upazila Health Complex where duty doctor declared him dead.

Rakibul Islam said, “The dead body has been sent to morgue for autopsy. Separate cases will be filled over the incident.”
