Army chief meets MONUSCO force commander

Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed, who is now visiting Congo, made a courtesy call on the force commander of the United Nations Organisation Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) Lt General Elia Rodrigues Martins Filho on Wednesday.

David Gressly, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of MONUSCO, was also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, both of them lauded the activities of Bangladeshi contingents in the peacekeeping mission in Congo.

The Chief of Army Staff also visited the contingents of Bangladesh Army and gave instructions to the soldiers in a special darbar (meeting). He also spoke to the officers of the contingents.

In addition, General Aziz called on the governor of the Ituri province of Congo, Pacifique Keta Upar, on Thursday.
