DNCC kitchen market fire victims get compensation

Each of the affected businessmen in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) kitchen market fire in the city’s Gulshan area on Wednesday got compensation of Taka 10,000.

 

State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman distributed cash among the affected businessmen at a programme at the DNCC kitchen market, said a press release.

 

Senior Secretary of the ministry Md Shah Kamal and Director General of the Department Of Disaster Management Abu Syed Mohammad Hashim were present on the occasion.

 

After distributing money among the businessmen, Dr Enam said the government would remain besides the people during any natural calamity.

 

Losses of the traders in the March 30 fire incident are irreparable, he said, adding that the government stood besides the businessmen by giving Taka 10,000 as humanitarian aid.

 

The state minister urged all to remain alert to prevent the recurrence of fire incident.

 

Earlier, each of the 669 fire-affected employees of the kitchen market was given 30 kilogram (KG) of rice by the ministry.
