An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police has been killed by a covered van on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway under the Bandar Thana area of Narayanganj. 

The deceased was identified as Farid Ahmed. 
The accident took place on Dhaka-Chattogram highway on Friday morning. 
The culprit drivers flee away after he ran over the victim leaving the car in the spot. 
Kaium Ali Sardar, officer-in-charge of Kanchpur Highway Police Station confirmed the accident to reporters. 
Farid Ahmed, son of Manik, a resident of Chunarughat in Habiganj, joined as a constable of police in 2000.
