Visitors won’t be allowed to enter Ramna and Suhrawardy Udyan areas after 5pm on the day of Pahela Baishakh.
Besides, smoking is prohibited at all the venues of celebration programs marking the first day of Bangla New Year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia announced the set of orders at DMP Media Center Thursday (April 11).
“All the functions marking the New Year must close by 6pm,” he said.
After that, if anyone wants to hold indoor events, DMP will provide security to level best, he added.
SWAT and Bomb Disposal Unit will carry out strong surveillance, as part of combined security measures, in the venues. Like previous year, vuvuzela will remain banned this time too.
Legal action will be taken if anyone smokes or blows vuvuzela at the venues, warned the DMP boss.
Central roads in Ramna, Suhrawardy Udyan and Dhaka University (DU) areas will remain blocked.
Only a listed people, who will take part in mass procession ‘Mangal Shovajatra', will be allowed to wear masks.
