The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has assured Bangladesh of providing assistance for the development of the country’s information and communication technology sector.
The assurance came during a meeting between Bangladesh’s State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak and ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao in Geneva on Monday. It was arranged at the ITU headquarters.
Palak informed Zhao about the government’s initiatives and plans to provide internet service to the root level to build a ‘Digital Bangladesh’.
Zhao told Palak that Bangladesh will get ITU’s assistance to develop its ICT sector.
There was a fruitful discussion on how ITU can assist in building a ‘Digital Bangladesh’ through the proper usage of ICT, the ICT Division said in a statement.
