HSC, equivalent exams begin Monday

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations will begin across the country on Monday.

 

A total of 13,51,505 examinees from 9,81 educational institutions will take part in the examinations. Of the total candidates, 6,64,496 are male and 6,87,9 female.

 

Education minister Dr Dipu Moni came up with the information during a press briefing at her secretariat office Sunday afternoon.

 

The theoretical examinations will continue till May 6, while practical examinations will be held after theoretical examinations, education ministry sources said.

 

 Some 78,451 will appear in the examinations from madrasa board while 1,24,265 students under technical institutions will appear in the examinations.

 

Like the SSC, the HSC candidates have been asked to enter the centres half an hour before the start of exams.

 

The sets of questions will be fixed through lottery 25 minutes before the exams.

 

Educational Minister said no one will be allowed to take electronic devices into the centres. The officials in charge of the centres can take mobile phones inside, but not any with camera.
