First syndicate meeting of BDU held

The first syndicate meeting of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Digital University (BDU) was held at the meeting room of the varsity’s city office at Mohammadpur in the capital on Saturday.


BDU Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Munaz Ahmed Noor and president of the syndicate presided over the function.


The meeting cleared several issues including starting off the classes of the newly admitted students of 2018-19 academic session, revised budget for 2018-19 fiscal year and proposed budget for 2019-20 fiscal year.


Besides, the decision of digitalization and modernization of the laboratories of the university, organogram and qualification needed in recruiting teachers and officers were also fixed at the meeting.


Among others, Senior Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Department of Education Ministry Md. Sohrab Hossain, Secretary of the finance department of Finance Ministry Abdur Rouf Talukdar, Secretary of Science and Technology Ministry Mr, Md. Anowar Hossen, Legislative of Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs and Senior Secretary the parliamentary department Mr Mohammad Shahidul Haque, Director of the Advance Technology Limited Mr Md Mubin Khan, President of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) Mr Abdus Sabur and BDU director for Finance and Accounts and Registrar (Current Charge) Md. Ashraf Uddin were also present.
