Archer Ruman claims Asia Cup top-spot on Day 1

Bangladesh archers performed well on the first day of stage-1 in Asia Cup 2019 Archery Tournament held at Bangkok in Thailand on Monday.

In recurve division Bangladesh archer Ruman Sana has been the best performer in qualification round on day one after grabbing the first position with 681 point.

Mohammed Hakim Ahmed Rubel scored 654 and Md Imdadul Haq Milon scored 641 as they occupied 22nd and 35th position respectively.

Dia Siddiqui became 33rd in the qualification round in women’s division on the first day in recurve division.

Beauty Roy and Nasrin Akhter ranked 34th and 52nd in qualification scoring 591 and 547 respectively.

In recurve singles, Sana, Milon, Rubel, Dia and Beauty all went through the next round. Bangladesh men’s archery team will face Philippine in recurve team event after achieving 4th position in qualification first round while women will face Chinese Taipei archery team.

In mix-recurve event, Bangladesh’s Ruman and Dia will fight against Vietnam in quarter-final round.

Archers from 23 countries will be participating in this tournament. 12 archers from Bangladesh are participating in this competition.

The tournament will end on March 30.
